The coconut oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconuts within 1 hour of opening the coconut using hand operated presses. This means that the coconut oil is supremely fresh as direct micro expelling avoids high temperature industrial pressing, hence the term ‘extra virgin’ for this superior grade of coconut oil. Long shelf life - does not have to be refrigerated. Coconut oil is very stable and resistant to rancidity but, like all oils, care should be taken not to introduce water into it (e.g., a wet spoon). This can reduce shelf life and even encourage mould to grow.

I ordered the fair trade virgin coconut oil and was very impressed with both the service and product. The oil arrived the day after I paid (!) and is of superb quality. I was after fair trade virgin coconut oil, which turned out to not be in abundant supply in NZ. I am so glad I found Hebe botanicals. Great Product
It's hard to find cold-pressed organic coconut oil in NZ so I am glad to have found it through this site. Great on toast and as a substitute for cooking oil in baking.
